Speaking to reporters at the Biratnagar airport this morning, Gachchhadar said the CA’s term extension has now become a necessity to allow more time to finish the remaining tasks of the peace and constitution writing processes. [break]
“The Constituent Assembly’s term will be extended by six months. The parties will agree on that,” Gachchhadar said with optimism.
He also made it clear that the incumbent government will disband only after framework for the formation of a national consensus government is formed.
“Nobody has said no to a consensus government. However, this government certainly won´t step down just to effect a change of guard,” he added.
Asked about the colossal size of the cabinet, Gachchhadar, said, “This is no jumbo size. It’s only eight percent [of the CA’s total strength]."
“You have my word—The size won’t exceed 90 percent,” the DPM said in a light vein.
The current mandate of CA is set to end on November 30.
