Addressing the 31st anniversary of the TU Teaching Hospital in the capital on Monday, Chairman Regmi urged all to help create favourable atmosphere for the enthusiastic participation of people in the election. [break]
On a different note, he said the Constitution has established health service as the basic need and fundamental right, so it was essential to ensure people´s access to health service.
"Doctors need to be competent, balanced and professional and devote to catering quality service to the people," he said, adding that health service should be taken as an ideal service by making it equal to all irrespective of religion, politics and belief.
On the occasion, Education Minister Madhav Prasad Poudel pointed out the need to develop TU Teaching Hospital as the best hospital in the South Asia. Government was ready to extend assistance to the hospital, he assured.
He further said that government was not for accepting foreign affiliation in running education programmes on medical and engineering faculties.
Similarly, Vice-Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University Professor Dr Hira Bahadur Maharjan said they were ready to extend help to the institute of medical sciences once it came up with new programmes.
Other speakers at the programme stressed on ensuring quality health service with competent human resource.
