CA election by mid-December: Oli

BIRATNAGAR, June 4: Leader of the CPN-UML, KP Oli, has claimed that election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) would be held by mid-December.



Oli expressed this view while talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport Tuesday. Stating that the high-level political mechanism would forge consensus on June 7 on the disputed issues of the election law, he said the Election Law Ordinance would be issued only after that. [break]



Oli said that different national and international powers are active not to allow the holding of the CA election and expressed determination that the incumbent election government would hold the election by mid-December.



Stressing on the need of threshold to bring the election under the ambit of law, he said there should be no dispute on this topic.



Responding to a query, the UML leader said that threshold was necessary to political parties to go among the people.



Oli said that the country could not be made the hostage of indecision even if any political party did not participate in the election and added that such party would be itself sidelined.
