CA chair urges top leaders for consensus, presence at CA

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Chairman of the Constituent Assembly (CA) Subash Chandra Nemwang organized facilitated a meeting of top three political parties at his office in Baneshwor on Monday.



The meeting focused on the process of constitution writing and political consensus.[break]



Chief whips of the parties – UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML – along with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and NC parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel participated in the meeting.



Nemwang drew attention of the parties towards absences of the top leaders in the CA meetings.



"I drew the attention of the top leaders towards very low presence of senior leaders of major political parties in the meeting," Nemwang told myrepublica. "I urged them to build a consensus on expediting constitution writing process so that we can promulgate the constitution in time."



Maoist chairman Dahal said they would talk about it in the three-party meeting scheduled on Monday afternoon. “We will talk about the issues raised by the CA chairman in today’s meeting of three parties,” Dahal said after the meeting.
