DAMAULI, Oct 11: The Byas Integrated Madi River Valley Project, an ambitious project of Byas municipality of Tanahun, is gaining momentum.
The municipality has put forward various plans in the 18-km area of the Madi River. In this connection, the municipality has made public a final draft of the master plan of the project.
Locals make 'fresh demands' to Upper Madi Hydropower Project
Various inputs and recommendations have been collected from different sides after organizing a public program on Sunday.
Preparations are underway to include 26 projects under the 15-year integrated plan. The project is expected to cost around Rs 26 billion.
Presenting the final draft of the master plan, Engineer Kumar Dhamala said the integrated project would cover 26 plans, including Byas reservoir, Botanical garden, industrial corridor, indigenous nationality community, Bhanu education center, Byas support center, Madi River boating project, housing project, and solid waste management plan, among others.
He also presented a cost estimation plan and timeframe of each plan under the integrated project. "Each plan will be prioritized based on their importance and construction works will be advanced accordingly," he informed.
