KATHMANDU, Nov 30: By-election is currently underway to fill 52 vacant positions in three-tiers of government.

The election that began at 7 am today is taking place in one seat of federal parliament, three provincial assemblies and 48 seats of local governments. Those positions were lying vacant after the elected representatives died naturally or in accidents.

The Election Commission stated that 25% of voting has taken place till 12 noon. It stated that voting is taking place in a peaceful manner. The voting runs until 5 pm.
