RUPANDEHI, Jan 24: As part of the 'one home, one employment' campaign, Butwal Sub-metropolitan city has provided skill-generating training to 500 youths.
In the first phase of the campaign, 232 youths of Butwal-19 were with certificate after participating in various training programs while others have just started their training. Butwal Mayor Shivaraj Subedi informed Republica that these youths would be provided jobs based on their skills and capacity.

The youth employment program introduced by the local unit is among the most welcomed programs by the locals. Mayor Subedi himself handed those certificates to those who had completed their training amidst a program on Wednesday.
The Skill Development Center provided training related to cooking, AC and refrigerator repairing, plumbing and fashion designing. As many as 80 youths opted for cooking training while 46 chose to learn AC and Refrigerator repairing. Similarly, 12 participated in plumbing while 94 learnt the fashion-designing course.
Mayor Subedi says this training is to make sure that local youths utilize their skills for the development of local units. Those who participated in the training have assured to do something for the metropolis. Local health, education and business organizations have appreciated the effort taken by the municipality. Vice-Chairperson Gumadevi Acharya said that the training was conducted for three months. As the second level begins, more youths are joining the training. The sub-metropolis is preparing to conduct another program to help the youths coordinate with their employers. Stakeholders of various organizations present at the program stated that this campaign has helped generate skill-based employment.
Meanwhile, the sub-metropolis is also planning to provide training related to repairing equipment of heavy hydraulic systems, auto mechanics, and general mechanics, among others.
