Butwal Power marks World Environment Day

KATHMANDU, June 5: Butwal Power Company organized various events to commemorate the World Environment Day on Friday. Among others, inter-department quiz competition, essay writing contest on environmental issues among employees and documentary show were held. [break]



The power company also conducted Clean Dhobi Khola campaign, which was participated by Ranjan Lohar, the CEO of Butwal Power Company, company employees, members of Aama Samuha and locals, according to a press release issued by the company.



The company has said it will organize more of such cleaning campaigns in the future.





Hama Merchant holds AGM



KATHMANDU, June 5: The annual general meeting (AGM) of Hama Merchant and Finance Limited concluded in Kathmandu on Friday. The meeting endorsed the company´s financial statements of the last fiscal year.



Till the end of last fiscal year, the finance company had collected a deposit of Rs 193.38 million, up by 50.86 percent from previous fiscal´s deposit. Its loan portfolio in the same period stood at Rs 246.21 million. Non-performing loans of the company stand at 1.41 percent.





Kumari Bank´s cookery class



KATHMANDU, June 5: Inside one of the halls in the United World Trade Center Friday afternoon a group of people were conducting a cooking class. They were sharing their expertise on the ways to make cookies and fry papad using a microwave oven. Tips for preparing momos, katthi role and many more food items were also flowing incessantly, while the audience of around 50 was keenly listening to the cooking recipes.



This was one of the unique programs organized by Kumari Bank to “increase interaction with its account holders and socialize with them.” Customers who had opened ´Shubha Laxmi´ savings account in Kumari Bank had participated in the event. “We believe these kinds of meetings will strengthen their bond with the bank,” Nikita Thapa, relationship officer of Kumari Bank, told myrepublica.com.



As competition is increasing among the country´s commercial banks, many are introducing innovative promotional schemes in an attempt to be ahead in the game. The ´free cookery class´ was one of such measures taken by Kumari Bank. “We are planning to organize more such events in the future where we can directly interact with our customers,” Thapa said.
