Indian government has agreed to support a total of Rs 150 million to establish CDS in Nepal.
Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has already forwarded the CDS Regulations to the Ministry of Finance for approval. Similarly, Nepse has formed a committee to undertake the process to procure necessary hardware for CDS.
According to CMC India, the initial process of developing the software has already been completed.
Thamel Street Carnival organized
KATHMANDU, Sept 27: As a part of celebrating the 31st World Tourism Day, Thamel Tourism Development Council organized Thamel Street Carnival 2010 on Monday.
Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari inaugurated the event organized with the theme ´Thamel for Family´ by lighting an eight-feet tall ´tourism torch´. More than 2,500 business enterprises in Thamel participated in the event which featured fashion show, food festival, tattoo artists and others.
Organizers said they hoped the event and its theme would help develop Thamel as a safe destination for families.
Syakar announces Dashain offer
KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Syakar Company, the sole distributor of Honda and Hero Honda motorcycles in Nepal, has announced special offer for the Dashain festival.
As per the offer, customers will get a scratch card and a bumper card coupon on purchase of any Honda bike. The scratch card will guarantee them with the cash prize of Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000.

Rising Dev Bank in Gitanagar
KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Rising Development Bank has opened its eight branch in Gitanagar of Chitwan. Govinda Prasad Joshi, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the new branch, the bank said in a statement on Moday. The statement further added that it was expanding branches in the remote parts of the country for the development of rural areas.
The bank has also invested Rs 50 million on loans to various small and medium scale industries to promote such industries in the country. More than 600 persons opened at the new branch on the first day, the statment added. "The branch became successful in mobilizing deposits worth Rs 5.50 million on the first day,” the statement added.
1 pc cash back on Nabil debit card transactions
KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Nabil Bank Ltd is now offering clients 1 percent cash back on every purchase made using its Visa debit cards during the Dashain-Tihar festive season.
Through the Nabil Cashback scheme, valid on Nabil´s Visa Electron, Miss Players and E-Pay cards, 1 percent of the total on every purchase a client makes until November 16 using a Nabil debit card will be deposited in the client´s account, the banks said in a statement Monday.

Issuing a press statement, the company said K343 is a dual SIM mobile phone with features like wireless FM radio with recording facility, mobile tracker function, LED torch light, video player and recorder along with expandable memory up to 4GB.

Pureit water purifier in market
KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Hindustan Unilever has launched the new water purifier called Pureit Auto-fill in the nepali market. The company has fixed the price of the device at Rs 6,400.
"The purifier shuts the inflow of water once the container is full. Its ´hydro sensors´ detect the level of water inside the purifier and fill water automatically, thus, making it free from manual intervention and avoid wastage of water," the company sad in a statement.
The purifier comes with a storage capacity of 18 liters and also meets the stringent germ-kill criteria of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a regulatory agency in the US. This is the first fully automatic water purifier without any electricity expenses and it purifies water as safe as boiled water, the statement added.
