BUSINESS BRIEFS: 'NTY success rests on NAC'

KATHMANDU, June 8: Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Prachanda Man Shrestha said on Tuesday that it would be impossible to achieve the target of welcoming one million visitors during Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 campaign unless national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) establishes direct flights to Europe.



Speaking at an interaction in the presence of newly appointed Nepali ambassador to France, Mohan Krishan Shrestha, CEO Shrestha said tourist arrival won´t be sustainable unless there is a strong national flag carrier. [break]



He also said urged all concerned to put in place a mechanism to protect the rights of tourists visiting the country. He, however, claimed that other infrastructures like hotels and lodges are sufficient to accommodate one million tourists.



CEO Shrestha also requested the newly appointed ambassador to promote Nepal´s tourism among French nationals.



Ambassador Shrestha said his focus would be promoting Nepal among European visitors.





Sipradi´s Mega Exchange Camp



KATHMANDU, June 8: Sipradi Motors, the authorized distributor of Tata Motors is organizing a country wide exchange camp from June 10 to June 27.



“This is the first and probably the largest exchange camp ever held by the car dealers in Nepal,” claimed Sipradi Motors in a press statement held.



The camp is going to start from outside the valley and will conclude in here. The exchange Camp is going to be held with the spot finance facility.



The vehicles that are going to be available in the camp are Vista, Indigo, Sumo Victa, Grande MK II, Sumo and Safari.





EBL plays good Samaritan



KATHMANDU, June 8: As part of its corporate social responsibility, Everest Bank has decided to donate Hydrocollator machine to Siddhi Memorial Foundation, Bhaktapur on the occasion of 2nd anniversary of its Bhaktapur branch. The machine is used for physiotherapy.



Siddhi Memorial Foundation is a non-government organization that has been running Siddhi Memorial Hospital and Siddhi Shaligram Briddhashram, an old age home, with donations received from different organization and local people. Siddhi Memorial Hospital provides health services to poor people.



“It has always been the bank´s endeavor to contribute to the social welfare activities such as women skill development, child education, setting up of health camp, blood donation camp, computer donation,” the bank said in a statement on Tuesday.





CEDB supports old age home



KATHMANDU, June 8: As a part of observing the World Environment Day, Clean Energy Development Bank (CEDB) has introduced Gifting Pure Brightness Program.



“This program was initiated as a part of CEDB´s corporate social responsibility in Kathmandu by contributing solar PV home lighting systems to fulfill the vital lighting requirements of an old age home known as Ama ko Ghar as well an orphanage known as Jana Uddhar Sewa Samiti,” the bank said in a statement received on Tuesday.



Ama ko Ghar located at Ravi Bhawan houses and cares for 76 individuals consisting of elderly women and orphans; while Jana Uddhar Sewa Samiti situated at Sitapaila- 5 is taking care of 66 children.
