The bank says its partnership with Practical Action Nepal came as a part of the bank´s focus on rural banking to serve the unbanked population of the country. The bank has also indicated of further tie ups with similar organizations in the future to reach out to the needy section of the population. NMB Bank operates with 20 branches, 1 extension counter and 23 ATM outlets across the country.
MDB felicitates social contributors
KATHMANDU: Manakamana Development Bank (MDB) under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives has felicitated Dil Shova Shrestha and Goma Rai for their contribution to society. Under the initiative, the development bank awarded cash prize of Rs 11,111 each to Shrestha and Rai at a Teej Function organized by Aama Saraswati Movies on Saturday, states a press release of the bank.
The program was organized to felicitate 5 women from different walks of life for the contribution they made to differently-abled children. The release adds that the bank would also celebrate ´Teej week´ from September 12 to 20, 2012, during which it is planning to offer gifts to its Mahila Bachat accountholders with its Kathmandu valley branches. The bank provides 8 percent per annual interest on its Mahila Bachat account.
Asian Paints launches Royal Shyne
KATHMANDU: Asian Paints, a leading paint manufacturer, has launched a new product, Royale Shyne, a luxury segment interior emulsion, just ahead of the festive season when the demand for paint rises in the market. It will, however, be available only at selected dealer counters across the country, the company said in a press release. According to the company, Royale Shyne is ultra luxury interior emulsion with Teflon surface protector and certified by Dupont USA. With added additives, it delivers best sheen and is scratch/stain resistant. “Nepali consumers always keep looking for modern and innovative products. This product will best match the customer´s expectation,” said country director of Asian Paints Budhaditya Mukherjee.
Bajaj launches Dashain-Tihar scheme
KATHMANDU: Hansraj Hulaschand and Company -- the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal, has introduced a new scheme named ´Bajajtantra´ for upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals. EBL launches 5 cash deposit machines
KATHMANDU: Everest Bank Limited (EBL) that has been introducing latest innovations to better cater to the needs of its customers, has launched 5 Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) for the first time in Nepal. With the new machines, the bank customers can now enjoy real time cash deposit facility without having to stay in a queue at cash counters, the bank said issuing a press statement. Till date, banks in Nepal had been providing only withdrawal facility to the customers through their ATM machines.
CEO of EBL P K Mahopatra inaugurated the 1st machine at the bank´s New Baneshwar branch amid a function on Friday. Similar four machines have been installed at other branches at Lazimpat, New Road, Pulchowk and Chabahil. Presently EBL is providing banking services through its network of 47 branches, 2 extension counters, 20 revenue collection counters, 61 ATMs and numerous correspondents across the globe. Besides, its EBL debit card also allows its customers access to more than 1400 ATMs of SCT network in Nepal and more than 6000 ATMs of its joint-venture partner, Punjab National Bank (PNB), in India.
