BUSINESS BRIEFS: Cosmetica starts operations

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Cosmetica -- a retail multi-brand cosmetic outlet -- has been opened at Civil Trade Center, Sundhara. The outlet has appointed popular artiste Jharana Bajracharya as its brand ambassador. "Shopping for cosmetics will now be worry-free with all world class brands available under one roof at affordable prices," Bajracharya said in a statement.



Cosmetica will retail products from renowned brands like L´Oreal, Revlon, Lakme, Lotus, Rimmel, Diana of London, Olay, Head & Shoulders, Street Wear, Johnson & Johnson, Ponds, Garnier, Dove, Himalaya, VLCC, RichFeel and Emami. To celebrate its launch, Cosmetica is offering 10 percent discount on all products until February 28, said the statement. [break]



Cosmetica is also introducing privilege cards to reward its frequent customers with a promise to introduce more interesting schemes for its consumers. The company plans to reach out to large number of consumers by opening 10 outlets within 2013.



Insurance scheme on Samsung mobile



KATHMANDU
: International Marketing Services (IMS) -- the authorized distributor of Samsung mobiles in Nepal -- has launched insurance service for customers of Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II devices. According to a press statement issued by the company, IMS has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Everest Insurance to provide insurance service to the customers.



"The insurance will pay for any damage or physical hazard caused to the mobile," said the statement. However, the insurance facility will be provided only to genuine Samsung products with IMS hologram. Customers buying Galaxy S III and Note II from general stores will not get the insurance service. The company will provide the buyers with the insurance policy within a week. IMS will waive off insurance premium for a year, according to the statement.



Etihad to fly to Amsterdam



KATHMANDU
: Etihad Airway is starting operation to Amsterdam from Abu Dhabi starting May 15, a press statement of the airline said on Friday. According to the airline, its codeshare partner Air France will also extend its current flight schedule to commence a daily service to Amsterdam from the same date. “This means customers can now take advantage of double-daily flights between the two cities,” the statement added.



To celebrate the launch, the airlines has also announced double guest miles on all flights to Amsterdam for one month from operation.
