Around Rs. 2.16 million the UNICEF provided to the District Health Office for the health and nutrition programme through Decentralized Action for Children and Women (DACAW) has been returned, said DACAW District Programme Coordinator, Pancharam Chaudhary.[break]
It was provisioned that the programme should be executed within 2010. The budget for the programme with a timeframe of three-month for the implementation was dispatched on July.
Coordinator Chaudhary complained that though he had frequently urged the health office for the programme execution the office came up with sheer negligence to this effect.
To the contrary, Chief of District Health Office, Bajura, Dr. Bhawani Prasad Sharma made it clear that the office has no mistake in this connection. He added he could not put forward this programme due to the workload caused by number of projects with district health office.
All sides are responsible for the return of the amount allocated for the programme, said chief of Health and Nutrition of District Health office, Mohan Jaisi.
On the one hand, an amount of tens of thousands has gone back due to inefficiency to execute the programme while on the other, still a large number of children and women are to receive immunization service in the district.
