Speaking at a program in the capital on Saturday, Pandey said the budget will continue some of the good programs brought in the last fiscal year. It has been planned to separate Rs 1 billion against Rs 260 million of the last year for the construction of the fast track linking to Tarai routes, he informed. [break]
The finance minister said the budget for the next fiscal year will include the construction of the 1,733-km hilly highway.
Minister Pandey stressed on the need for scientific farming system since majority of the population has to depend on agriculture. He said the government would give more priority to the agricultural sector than the industrial one as the industrial sector contributes only six percent to the national economy.
As per the plan, out of the total budget, 18 percent will be invested in education and later it will reach 20 percent, he said, adding, the government has planned to provide free education up to secondary level.
