The office said the federal government has not allocated the necessary budget for the completion of the project. Although some of the projects being run in Kailali have developed physical structures, installing pipes has not been completed due to lack of necessary budget.

It is said that the projects having physical infrastructure could not come into operation due to lack of budget.

Acting chief of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office, Kailali, Ganesh Prasad Upadhyay, said over two dozen projects have been in limbo due to the government's ignorance in allocating budget required for the completion of the project.

According to him, allocation of the peanut budget annually for the projects worth Rs 100 million will take years to complete the projects.

According to the office data, drinking water projects in Tikapur, Gauri Ganga, Lamkichuha municipality, Dhangadhi sub-metropolis, Janaki, Joshipur, Kailari and Bardagoria rural municipalities of Kailali have not been completed even after 15 years since the start of their works.
