“We should accommodate the NC if we want to see the promulgation of a new constitution and end of the political stalemate,” Pokharel said while speaking at a function organized by Press Chautari in Nepalgunj.[break]
The UML Secretary said any attempt to sideline the NC and garner a two-third majority to promulgate the constitution would be counterproductive.
Pokharel also advised the NC to accept the request from other political parties to join the government.
“But if the government gets a full-shape without the NC on board, the country would not see any solution to the existing problems,” he said, adding that the deteriorating inter-party relationships have made the future of the constitution drafting uncertain.
