Bring CPN-Maoist into poll process: Thapa

KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Chairman of the Rstriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Surya Bahadur Thapa, has urged the government and the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) to make meaningful efforts to bring the CPN-Maoist into election process.



Speaking at a press conference organized at RPP Chairman Thapa´s residence here on Monday, he said that holding the election sans the participation of the CPN-Maoist would not give good message.[break]



Thapa also urged the CPN-Maoist to participate in the CA election giving up all partisan interests.



Saying that holding CA election sans the participation of the CPN-Maoist could not give outlet from the current political transition to the nation, he also argued that questions could also be raised over the legitimacy of such election.



Thapa, who is also former Prime Minister, also accused big parties of not putting their sincere efforts to bring the CPN-Maoist and other poll opposing political parties into election process.



Responding queries of the reporters, Thapa informed that he would not contest the upcoming election due to his age factor.
