Brahman Samaj to form a new party

JHAPA, July 8: Two days after ethnic leaders and activists announced to form a new political party, Brahman Samaj has also begun exercise for forming a new political force.



 A meeting of Brahman Samaj held at Damak in Jhapa district on Sunday formed a five-member taskforce to make recommendations on the possibility of forming a new political party. "All political parties have been advocating for single-ethnicity based federalism. [break]



So, it has become essential to form a political party that will push for multi ethnicity-based federal states," said a leader of Brahman Samaj on the condition of anonymity. Leaders of Brahman Samaj stated that majority of the participants agreed on the need of forming a new political party. Brahman Samaj has been opposing the idea of single-ethnicity based federal states saying that it would disturb social harmony and lead to the disintegration of the country.
