Boy kills self after failing in SLC

Chitwan, June 11: A student from Kaparkhori village in eastern Chitwan has committed suicide upon learning that he failed in the SLC exams whose results were announced Tuesday afternoon. [break]



Merely two hours after the results were announced, Anish Amgain, 16, committed suicide at around 4 pm by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence. He had high hopes of passing the exam, according to reports. He had appeared in the SLC from Skyrider Boarding Secondary School of Ratnanagar in the district. It has been stated that Anish failed in social studies. He scored 17 marks although the minimum pass mark is 32. Only three students from the school failed in SLC this year.
