MAHENDRANAGAR, July 9: Prem Rawat, 19, originally from Sherdaha Rural Municipality who was studying in Mahendranagar, has gone missing while bathing in the Mahakali River. Rawat was staying at his uncle Udaya Rawat's house in Ward 9 of Mahakali Municipality.
Police said that Rawat was bathing near Dhakanaghat before he disappeared on Saturday. Rawat had gone with the locals to collect fire-wood which is brought ashore by the river when water current is high said Narayan Giri, Deputy Superintendent of Area Police Office in Dodhara.
A team of locals, Nepal Police and Armed Police Personnel, and volunteers of the Nepal Red Cross Society have begun a search for Rawat.
Many have died in the process of bathing and collecting firewood in the river in the past.
