Border security meeting held in view of upcoming elections

BIRATNAGAR, Nov 13: A border security meeting between the officials of Nepal and India concluded on Saturday regarding the security issues in view of the upcoming elections.

The meeting was held at integrated check point (ICP) located at Araria district of India.

Chief District Officer of Morang Kashiraj Dahal, Assistant Chief District Officer Sharad Kumar Pokharel, Superintendent of Police of Morang Shantiraj Koirala, Chief District of Sunsari Indra Dev Yadav, Superintendent of Police of Sunsari Pravu Prasad Dhakal and other officials from Nepal were present at the meeting. 

Likewise, Araria district’s District Magistrate Inayat Khan and Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Singh and other Indian officials were present from the Indian side. 

Chief District Officer of Morang Dahal said decisions have been made to seal off the border points before 72 hours of the voting on November 20, control drug smuggling, information sharing of the criminal activities and joint patrolling to help conduct the elections in a free, fair and fearless manner. 

According to CDO Dahal, a decision has been made to issue approval for the movement of vehicles on mutual understanding for ambulance and marriage attendants.
