Bodies of all Nepali students killed in Israel brought to Nepal, search for missing one continues

KATHMANDU,  Nov 5:  The bodies of all 10 Nepali students who died in the attack by Hamas group in southern Israel have arrived in Nepal.

Sharadraj Aran, joint secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the bodies of all the deceased Nepali students arrived in Nepal after the body of Padam Thapa of Doti Lamikhal-8 arrived in Nepal at 11:30 last night via a FlyDubai flight.

He said, "The bodies of 10 students who died in the attack by the Hamas group in Israel have been brought to Nepal. The rescue operation in Israel is almost over. Efforts are being made to locate Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student still missing after the attack.”

The attack by the Hamas group in southern Israel on October 7 killed 10 Nepali students. Padam Thapa of Doti Lamikhal-8, Prabesh Bhandari of Salyan Sarada-3, Ganesh Kumar Nepali of Bajhang Jaiprithvi-6, Lokendrasingh Dhami of Darchula Malikarjun-4, Dipeshraj Bista of Darchula Lekam-5, Anand Shah of Dhanusha Saphi-6, Narayan Prasad Neupane of Kailali Ghodaghodi-4, Rajesh Kumar Swarnakar of Sunsari Madhuwan-1, Rajan Phulara of Doti Pachnali-3, and Ashish Chaudhary of Kailali Bauniya-3 were killed in the attack and their bodies have been brought to Nepal.

They had gone to Israel as part of the 'Learn and Earn' program of Southwestern University's agricultural sector. Bipin Joshi of Kanchanpur Bhimdatta-3 remains out of contact since the attack.

A few days ago, a team including Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud rescued 254 students stranded in Israel and brought them to Nepal.

Joint Secretary Aran said that the bodies of Padam Thapa of Doti Lamikhal-8, Rajan Phulara of Doti Pachnali-3 and Prabesh Bhandari of Salyan Sarada-3 will be sent to the respective districts after 12 noon today by a Nepali Army helicopter.
