Blocked BP highway opens for one-way traffic

KAVREPALANCHOWK, July 22: One-way traffic has resumed on the BP Highway which was obstructed last night due to landslides triggered by incessant rain. 


The road along the highway was blocked since last night due to flooding of Mamti Khola and Bhakure Khola and landslides occurring at various locations of Roshi Rural Municipality of Kavre.

According to the police, one-way traffic has resumed on the Roshi-Mangaltar road section of the highway that was blocked. 


Security personnel have been deployed to clear the landslide debris that is obstructing the highway. 


Spokesperson for the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Shrestha said efforts are underway to resume two-way traffic on the highway. 


He has assured the travelers that two-way traffic will resume by noon today. 


As landslides have become frequent in the area, excavators are kept on standby to remove the debris immediately.
