KHOTANG, Nov 6: Blacktopping of the Diktel-Halesi road section along the Mid-hill Highway has been completed.
The blacktopping was supposed to be completed within two years from the date of signing the contract but the upgradation is completed years after the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed. The MoU for the upgradation of the 35.43-kilometer long road section was signed on Agust 9, 2014.
The upgradation of the road section was divided into three parts – Halesi-Bijule (12 kilomter), Bijule-Hulung (12 kilometer) and Hulung-Diktel (11.43 kilometer). According to Bijay Thapa, chief of the road project, traffic signs, check posts are being put on Halesi-Bijule road section. He further added that minimum work remains on the Bilule-Hulung road section, which will be completed at the earliest.
Following the completion of upgradation works, the consultant company MSV International and Soil Test JV has removed its office from Nunthala.
According to Surya Prasad Dhakal, engineer of MSV International, it has already awarded the work completion certificate to the construction company.
