BIZ BRIEFS: Him launches new range of halogen heaters

KATHMANDU: Him Electronics has launched new range of Himstar electric room heaters with added features to its existing models. These upgraded products are noise-free and have three heating settings for better optimization, according to a press statement issued by the company. The swing facility in these heaters ensures uniform temperature distribution across the room, says the statement. The safety switch, on the other hand, turns the heater off automatically soon as it leaves the ground. Apart from common features, there are model specific features in the new range of halogen heaters. For congested spaces, the company has launched smaller heaters with two rods, says the statement.



Kawasaki Ninja 650R to hit market soon

KATHMANDU: HH Bajaj, the sole authorized distributor of Bajaj bikes in Nepal, is all set to introduce Kawasaki Ninja 650R in the Nepali market. Kawasaki Ninja is a high-end bike which has won various prestigious titles and has been named the ´Bike of the Year´ for many consecutive times, according to a company statement. The bike is equipped with compact and highly advanced liquid-cooled 649cc vertical twin engine, digital fuel injection, ultra-narrow engine, 180-degree crank assembly, 20mm wider handlebar, LCD info-center, triple disc brakes, redesigned bodywork with sharply defined and flowing lines, and improved engine-heat dissipation, among others, says the statement. The Kawasaki Ninja 650R is blessed with impressive top-end performance, adds the statement.



Tele World organizes blood camp

KATHMANDU: Tele World, distributor of Smart Cell, in coordination with Lions Club of Kathmandu Peace Eyes and Youth People Recreation Campaign Group, jointly organized blood donation program at Naya Pati of Sundarijal on Saturday. According to a press statement issued by the company, more than 50 pints of blood was collected during the program. Sarila Shrestha Maleku, ex-team captain of Nepal´s Women´s Football Association, also donated blood during the program, adds the statement.



NIC Bank holds blood donation program

KATHMANDU: NIC Bank, in coordination with its charity wing NIC Foundation, organized a blood donation program at the United World Trade Centre in Tripureshwor on Saturday. The program, organized with the support of Nepal Red Cross Society, was held to help ease the acute shortage of blood in Kathmandu for medical emergencies, according to a statement issued by the bank. The blood donation camp was participated by a total of 182 individuals, including general public, staff, bank directors, customers and their family members. NIC Foundation, a charity established by NIC Bank to work with the community, has been working for various social causes in areas of health and education. The foundation has also been providing scholarships to the disabled, orphans and female children, conducting free health check-ups and blood donation programs, and supporting construction of rural roads, old age homes and orphanages, among others.



IME rewards agents


KATHMANDU : International Money Express (IME) awarded three of its top performing agents under the MoneyGram scheme launched from October 1 to December 31 with an aim of promoting MoneyGram transactions across Nepal. According to a press statement issued by the company, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, executive chairman of the IME, gave away prizes and certificates to winning agents. The winners were chosen based on the volume of MoneyGram transactions carried out through IME. Under the agent incentive scheme, which ran for a period of three months, Sneha Suppliers and Traders of Damak, Ekata Money Network of Butwal and New World Link Money Transfer of Maharajgunj were selected as top three agents, says the statement. Winners were given away Lenovo G570 laptop, Dell PC and Brother MSP-7360 MSP (4-in-1 copy, scan, print, fax machine). The awarding ceremony is the IME´s year-round agent motivation program where IME recognizes and rewards its top performing agents in Nepal, says the statement.



Civil Dev Bank turns 4

KATHMANDU : Civil Development Bank earned a profit Rs 19.80 million in the last fiscal year, a press statement issued by the bank said. Speaking at a program organized to commemorate the third anniversary of the bank, Narayan Kumar Shrestha, chairman of the bank, said the bank was preparing to open an exchange counter in Adamghat. The bank, with its head office at Dhading, has so far extended its branch offices to Bairani and Aarughat. The bank currently has a paid-up capital of Rs 28 million.
