KATHMANDU, June 3: Journalist Laxman Biyogi brings out his story collection named ‘Satyam’ under the publication of Page Turner Pvt Ltd.
Jayaram Timilsina, executive director of Page Turner, said Biyogi in his first book has included essays, travelogues, poems, and songs, apart from the stories. According to him, the author has beautifully plotted the linguistic beauty of western Nepal, particularly in the Gandaki Panidholo region, focusing on Syangja district, and the various aspects of Nepali society amidst the Maoist conflict.
Worth of stories
Biyogi’s write ups are based on realistic stories that cover social discrimination, inequality, and the tragedies of the people's war. They also incorporate the melodies of folk songs and the essence of folk culture, while keeping at the center the environmental consciousness and materialism.
Biyogi has won first place in the 'Kabidanda National Essay Competition 2021' for his essay 'Corona's Karkha'. His story 'Tauko' also received recognition in the 'Dishhome Baahrakhari Nationwide Open Story Competition'.
A journalist by profession, Biyogi has experience of working in Nepali media for two decades. He has worked in ‘Nagarik’ a daily newspaper of Nepal Republic Media. He is currently the editor of Nepal's first energy-related online and bi-annual magazine 'Urja Khabar'.
