Bishnu claims caddie competition

KATHMANDU, March 7: Bishnu Bhandari secured top finish in the Gokarna Annual Caddie Competition at the Gokarna Golf Club in Kathmandu on Tuesday. Bishnu carded 10-over 82 in the 18-hole event. He bagged trophy and purse of Rs 16,000. 

Narayan Chaulagain and Krishna Murari Sapkota were joint second place finishers after playing 11-over 83. The duo received Rs 9500 each. 

Parmendra Singh and Sumber Shrestha shared fourth position with the score of 16-over 88 and bagged Rs 6000 each. Bharat Thapa Magar stood sixth at 17-over 89 and got Rs 4500. Deepak Rana (90), Balaram Poudel (91), Devendra Pandey (93), and Basudev Pudasaini (94) secured seventh to 10th positions respectively.  They also had their share in cash prize. 

Krishna Murari Sapkota won the closest to the pin and Bharat Thapa Magar won the longest drive and received Rs 1000 each for their feat.

Altogether 23 caddies took part in the event and top 16 players earned cash prizes. The tournament featured caddie golfers working at the golf club.
