“We received no customers today as people do not consume meat delicacies during the Chaat festival. Even the butchers have closed down their shops,” she said.
Most of the meat shops, restaurants and hotels serving non-vegetarian delicacies at Panitanki Chowk remain closed since Saturday. “We have stopped serving non-vegetarian items since the commencement of Chaath,” said Raju Kalwar of Raju Meat House.
“The entire city has turned vegetarian for the festival,” he added.
Fakaruddin Miyan, a Panitanki Chowk-based meat dealer, has not opened his shop for the last three days. “I will open my shop only after the Chaath festival,” said Miyan.
