After the results on Tuesday, only Sankata Club, Birgunj Youth and Madhyapur Youth Association have the chances of getting promoted.[break]
Sankata and Birgunj have equal 27 points from 13 matches but the former has better goal difference. Madhyapur has 23 points from only 12 matches and has fourth position. Third placed Tusal´s chances of getting promotion ended after the win of Birgunj on Tuesday.
Tusal has 24 points from 14 matches in the single league tournament participated by 15 clubs. Kumari Youth, along with Boys Sports and Gyan Bhairav, have confirmed relegation to ´C´ division.
Top two teams get promotion to ´A´ division from the tournament while bottom four will be relegated to ´C´ division.
Krishna Shakya, Nishan Nepali, Shatrudhan Chaudhary and Shriram Chaudhary scored a goal each for the Birgunj Youth, which is on the verge of creating history of being only the second club from outside Kathmandu Valley to get promotion into ´A´ division.
Earlier, Koilapani Polestar of Nawalparasi had participated in the last edition of the Martyrs Memorial League and was relegated. Birgunj is the only team to maintain undefeated run in the ongoing ´B´ division league.
Birgunj will face Mahabir Club in its last match while Sankata will lock horns with Kathmandu Club. Madhyapur is yet to face Boys Union and Star Club in the league.
In the second match played at the Nepal Police Academy, Maharajgunj on Tuesday, Bhola Byanjankar scored the lone goal of the match in the 66th minute to seal the 1-0 victory of Chyasal against Pulchowk. With the win, Chyasal, which was already out of the promotion race, ended Pulchowk´s hopes of promotion.
Pulchowk has 23 points from 13 matches and the fifth position while Chyasal has 21 points from 13 matches and the sixth position.
