Birgunj Mayor Sarawagi gets in a brawl with his party members

BIRGUNG, June 26:  Birgunj Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi and his party members were caught in   a brawl on Wednesday.

BIRGUNG, June 26:  Birgunj Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi and his party members were caught in a brawl on Wednesday. The fight broke out on Wednesday at the premise of Rastriya Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School, Shreepur. The mayor was scheduled to inaugurate the newly integrated CCTV facilities at the school.


As per the witness, after the inauguration of the CCTV facilities, the mayor inquired about the regional library's condition. He stated that the allocated budget of Rs five million was of no use." The amount was allotted by Province 2's Chief Minister Lal Babu  Raut.

Ajay Chaurasia, a party member confronted the mayor for his remarks, initially with a discussion finally ending up in a  brawl. Parsa police reported that the discussion inflated and ended in a fight between the mayor and the party cadres. A police team led by Inspector Chakra Bahadur Malla reached the site and took the situation under control. The district police office stated that necessary investigations were ongoing.
