Invited to bat first, Birendra Sainik mustered 130 runs losing four wickets in the limited 20-over match. Saugat Basnet hammered the highest 45 runs off 49 deliveries with four boundaries before being run out.
Likewise, Ayush Rana hit 28 off 29 with five boundaries and Dhiraj Thapa struck 19 off 15 with three fours. Sujan Basnet scored unbeaten 14 runs with two boundaries. Shishir Pandey, Nischal Dhakal and Keyur Jha claimed one scalp each for LRI.
Following the run chase, LRI could manage only 72 runs losing all the wickets in 16.5 overs. Shishir Pandey scored the highest 20 runs for his team facing 34 balls with two boundaries before being caught by Roshan Karki. Likewise, Amrit Basyal (15) and Keyur (12) were the other batsmen to reach double digit figures.
Man-of-the-match Anil Chaisir of the winning side and Milan Karki played in important role in restrict LRI to a low total as both of them claimed four wickets each. Anil conceded 17 run in his four-over spell while Milan gave away nine runs in his 3.5 overs. Sagun Dawadi and Roshan Khatri had one wicket each in their name.
Anil and Ayush Rana of Birendra Sainik were declared the man-of-the-series and best batsmen respectively. Nischal of the runners up was adjudged the best bowler.
Cricket Association of Nepal President Binay Raj Pandey, director of Capital College and Research Center, among others, handed over the prizes to the winners and runners up teams. The tournament was organized by Kathmandu Cricket Training Center.
