KATHMANDU, Oct 27: The family of Bipin Joshi, missing in the Israel-Hamas war, has once again called for his release. A video released by the Nepali Embassy in Israel features Bipin’s mother, Padma Joshi, and sister, Pushpa Joshi, appealing for his safe return.
In an emotional moment, Pushpa addressed the Israeli ambassador to Nepal, Hanan Godar, sharing her hopes of reuniting with her brother during the festival of Tihar. "I am waiting for my brother, even at this festival. Please return him safely," she said.
Celebrating Tihar the sustainable way
Pushpa further urged both the Israeli and Nepali governments, expressing her longing for Bipin's return and the return of other hostages. "I will be watching the road during this festival, hoping to see him come home," she said.
Bipin Joshi’s brother, Kishore Chandra Joshi, who recently traveled to Kathmandu, also reached out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for updates on Bipin’s condition. "A year has passed, and we have received no answers. Neither the Nepali nor the Israeli government has provided any information about Bipin," he lamented.
As of October 7, the conflict has marked a year, heightening the family's distress over Bipin's unknown fate. With ongoing attacks and no possibility of negotiations, the situation for Bipin and other hostages remains precarious.
