The meeting began recently at the army integration special committee secretariat of New Baneshwor is concentrating on the issues as removal of legal hurdles with the amendment of constitution, distribution of citizenship certificate, formation of commissions on truth and reconciliation, and the forced disappearance, and fixation of ranks to the former Maoist fighters, which are being integrated to the Nepal Army.[break]
Although the four big political powers- UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and the United Democratic Madhesi Front- have decided to form the election government under the leadership of the Chief Justice, they are yet to come up with full preparation for this.
The meeting is being attended by Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice-Chairman and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Prakash Man Singh, UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, and UDMF Coordinator Bijay Kumar Gachhadhar among others.
Earlier, a political taskforce formed by the big parties with their representatives failed to forge agreement on the disputed issues and entrusted the responsibility back to their party leaderships.
Although the taskforce meeting held today afternoon discussed every disputed issues, consensus was elusive, said Maoists leader Khimlal Devkota.
