As the election date approaches nearer, the political parties, specially the big ones, have intensified the door-to-door visit programs in the nooks and corners of the district. [break]
The main competition is expected to be among the big parties- the UCPN (Maoist), the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML- in all the three electoral constituencies of the district in this CA election.
Nepali Congress leader Dr Narayan Khadka, UCPN-Maoist leader Rajan Kiranti and CPN-UML leader Mani Poudel are contesting in the election from constituency-1.
Suresh Rai of the UCPN (Maoist), Pramila Rai of the Nepali Congress and Manju Chaudhary of the CPN (UML) are contesting from constituency-2.
Similarly, there is tough competition among the candidates of the three big parties in constituency-3. The UML has pitted Jagannath Khatiwada as its candidate from this constituency.
Besides the big parties, scores of other smaller parties have also fielded their candidates in all the three electoral constituencies of the district. This has made for an interesting electoral battle among the parties and they have started campaigning vigorously in the run up to the election.
