The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu has 125 bicycles to be used by 11 different units in the initial phase. “We would gradually extend it outside the Ring Road and to the suburbs,” said DSP Kedar Dhakal.
Metropolitan Police generally conduct patrolling in vans and find it harder to penetrate into the congested and crowded areas. Petty crimes mostly take place in areas that are difficult for the police to reach immediately.
