KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Bhuwan Nagarkoti maintained the lead after the second round of the Surya Nepal Challenge, the third event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2017-18, at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Tuesday.
Bhuwan carded four-under 64 on the second day to post the 36-hole total score of nine-under 127. Bhuwan is six strokes ahead of Deepak Magar, who carded two-under 66 for the total score of three-under 133. Surya Prasad Sharma is third at one-under 136 after he carded two-under 66. Rabi Khadka is fourth at even-par 136 after he carded one-under 67.
Yelamber Singh Adhikari (70) and Bhuwan Kumar Rokka (66) share the fifth position at one-over 137, while Ramesh Nagarkoti (68) is seventh at 138. Dhana Bahadur Thapa (72) and Jayaram Shrestha (67) shared the eighth position at 139, while Suman Rai is 10th at 143 after he played one-over 69.
Nepal No 1 pro Shiva Ram Shrestha faltered to four-over 72 and is at 11th position with the total score of seven-over 143. Kamal Tamang, Chuda Bahadur Bhandari, Sanjay Lama, Sanjeev Bahadur Nepali, Bikash Adhikari, Rajendra Shrestha Pradhan, Sachin Prasad Bhattarai, Ram Krishna Shrestha and Krishna Man Rajbahak survived the cut that was applied at 14-over 150.
In amateur section, Tanka Bahadur Karki took the five-stroke lead. The national team member Tanka carded one-under 67 for the total score of three-over 139. Overnight leader Phuntsok Norbu Lama played five-over 73 and fell down to second with the total score of 143, while Subash Ghising (71) is third at 145. Mithun Rai, Dhruba Thapa and Bharat Bastakoti also survived the cut.
