KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The Federation of Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Nepal (FTTEN) has reported 338 trucks and containers and 440 drivers, helpers and transport entrepreneurs missing following the devastating flood in Timure.
According to the FTTEN, the preliminary figures were compiled based on information received from its member associations, committees and transport companies at the request of the Department of Transport Management.

The FTTEN said the figures are preliminary and could increase as more details are collected and verified from the affected areas.
The FTTEN has urged the government to provide immediate relief, compensation and rehabilitation support to the affected transport entrepreneurs and their families. It also called for necessary assistance to those who have suffered losses in the disaster.
The flood in Timure has caused significant damage to the transport sector, with a large number of vehicles and people reported missing. Further assessment is underway to determine the full extent of the losses.
