KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Chairman Upendra Yadav have urged the government to postpone the local level elections.
Issuing a joint press release on Thursday, the two leaders said that flaws in the constitution should be corrected through amendment and urged the government to work on endorsing the constitution amendment bill tabled in the parliament with revision. They have also demanded for holding the election of provincial and federal parliament at first.

Likewise, the two leaders said that the local levels should remain under the jurisdiction of province and the number of local levels should be fixed only after determining the autonomous, protected and special regions.
The two leaders have also reiterated that there should be a directly elected executive head in the country and the election of federal parliament should be totally based on proportionate representation.
