KATHMANDU, Sept 19: UCPN (Maoist) senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Thursday has taken serious exceptions to the raid on a house by Indian police in Bardiya and the political speech by German envoy in Tanahun.

Writing on his face-book status today, leader Bhattarai has said that Nepali people have become dependent duo to the national defeatism policies adopted by the ruling élites after the nineteenth century. [break]

He has further stated that he feels hurt when  he finds people questioning the concepts and commitments taken by his party for the sake of national independence.

Simply the speeches about the national independence alone will do nothing when we are under circumstances to silently read the news about the blatant attacks on our national sovereignty, puts Bhattarai.

He further said that we cannot keep our country sovereign unless we consolidate our national unity, make our people equipped with rights and make our country financially independent.

To resolve all these burning issues, we have to take up a pragmatic approach rather than the path of war, said Bhattarai.
