KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Major three parties, who deferred voting on the constitution bill for two days to hold talks with dissenting groups, are divided over whether starting voting process or putting off the process for few more days.
Halting of constitution drafting process is a major demand of the agitating Madheshi Front.
According to source, leaders of Nepali Congress and UCPN (Maoist) are for postponing the clause-wise voting process.
NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula told the meeting of three parties held at the workplace of CA Chairman Subas Nembang that the statute writing process should be put off for few days as conducive environment for talks is being built.
Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) leader Baburam Bhattarai is also in favor of postponing voting process to hold talks with Madheshi Front and Tharuwan/Tharuhat Struggle Committee.
But, NC’s Sher Bahadur Deuba and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman are for moving ahead voting on the constitution bill.
