KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Naya Shakti Party Nepal (NSPN) Chairman Baburam Bhattarai has started negotiations with the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) for electoral adjustments in the upcoming elections.

Bhattarai started negotiations with the NC after quitting the UML-led left alliance. He decided to quit the UML-led alliance after disagreement over adjusting constituencies.

NSPN leader Ganga Shrestha said there has been an understanding between the two parties that NC would support NSPN in Gorkha constituency 2 while NSPN would support NC in the Gorkha constituency 1.

Former Prime Minister Bhattarai is contesting the federal election from Gorkha constituency 2.
