“Conspiracies are being hatched to not let parliament elect a new prime minister. [break]So the patriots, leftists and republicans should forge an alliance to foil this conspiracy,” said Bhattarai while launching a book in Kathmandu.
Bhattarai has been pushing for a national consensus government to institutionalize the new political achievements with the agenda of peace and constitution.
The Maoist vice-chairman said conspiracies are also being hatched to dismantle the political system and impose a military rule led by the president. He decried the latest moves of the royalists and said it was part of the conspiracy to turn the clock back.
It may be recalled that the Maoists loyal to Bhattarai had disrupted a program in Dolakha to be attended by former crown princess Himani despite an order from Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to party cadres against taking any such steps.
Stressing the need to institutionalize republicanism, federalism and secularism, Bhattarai called for unity among the leftists, republicans and patriots to save the country from crisis.
The Maoist ideologue argued that the government´s letter to the UN further restricting the mandate of the UNMIN was also a part of the conspiracy. He said his party also smells rat in the Supreme Court decision to slap life sentence on Maoist lawmaker Balkrisna Dhungel.
