BHAKTAPUR, Dec 8: A 33-year-old youth has been thrashed to death by his own close pal and a laborer in Bhaktapur.
Preliminary investigation of the police has revealed that Rajan Shrestha originally from Suryabinayak Municipality-1 and currently residing in Suryabinayak -3 in Bhaktapur succumbed to the injuries from the attack.
Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur's SP Shiva Shrestha shared that police rescued Shrestha from Hanumante River bank at around 10PM on Tuesday.
Police arrested 32-year-old Hemanta Shrestha, Shrestha's closest pal, and a laborer Prem BK and remanded them in custody for further investigation.
SP Shrestha shared that the two beat Shrestha and attacked him with a wooden log just to be free from the burden of paying back the money borrowed from Shrestha. The accused invited Shrestha at Gatthaghar to return him the money. They later took him to a deserted place and began to beat him to death.
Local laborers informed the police following which injured Shrestha was rushed to the Hospital but he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
DSP Narahari Regmi at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi said that the preliminary investigation showed that the accused had planned to murder Shrestha and hide his body.
