MYAGDI, Dec 5: Myagdi's 'Beni Mini Stadium' has come to the final shape after two years of its construction.
Due to a deficit budget for the last two fiscal years, a plan to widen and upgrade the open theater of Beni remained incomplete. Beni Municipality-7 ward chair Ramesh Kumar Shrestha shared that tasks related to parapet expansion, wall construction and filling are being carried out at the construction site.
"The plan is being executed through the users' committee to complete the construction works of the stadium. Beni Municipality had allocated a budget of Rs 5 million and Gandaki Province Ministry of Youth and Sports has set aside Rs 800,000 for completing the stadium construction," Ward Chair Shrestha said.

He further added that the ward leadership was focusing on completing the unfinished works.
It may be noted that Uttarganga Construction Service had signed a contract worth Rs 3.59 million for the construction of a wall and parapet near the Myagdi River in November last week. The company started its work immediately after contract signing.
Technician at Beni Municipality, Gopal Magar said that a pillar-based four-layered parapet is being constructed along the 35-meter long distance.
A detailed project report was prepared in 2074 BS at an estimated cost of Rs 90 million for widening the ground and constructing the parapet near the confluence of the Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers.
The open air theater is the only public space in Beni to practice football, cricket and athletics and organize sporting events and public programs.
As informed, the triangular ground has a length of 80 meters and a breadth of 38 meters. The plan is to expand the length to 96 meters and breadth to 45 meters.
A wall having a length of 105 meters and a height of five meters has been constructed near the Myagdi river bank. Around 50-meter parapet has been constructed over the wall.
