BIRGUNJ, Feb 4: The agitating lawyers have halted eight district courts and benches of the three high courts in the Tarai region protesting the appointment of 80 judges in high courts arguing that the appointment breaches the Constitution of Nepal 2072 BS and the Judicial Council Act.

On last Monday, lawyers of eight districts in a meeting held in Birgunj had decided to halt the courts and benches saying that the appointment of 80 judges is not in accordance with the existing laws.
