The village of Barpak in Gorkha which was the epicenter of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake of April 25, pictured recently. In this village of 1400 houses, only seven reinforced-concrete structures survived the earthquake. The scenic tourist village of slate-roof houses has now given way to tin roofs.
