KATHMANDU, Feb 22: Prof Dr Keshar Jung Baral has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Tribhuvan University. According to the PM's secretariat, Chancellor of the University and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today appointed Baral to the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee headed by Education, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Kumar Rai recommended the names of Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki and TankaNath Dhamala along with Baral.
Of the 43 people who had applied for the post of Vice-Chancellor, 14 were selected for the presentation and interview, and three names were recommended for appointment after the presentation and interview. It is said that the appointment was made on the basis of educational qualification, training, research articles, interviews and presentations.
