KATHMANDU, Sept 12:
Day-to-day life is back to normal, with the banda organizers withdrawing their nationwide shutdown at 10 am Wednesday. The banda was originally called beginning 6 am to 12 pm today.

With the withdrawal of banda, vehicles have started plying on the road. Likewise, marketplaces have open and businesses have resumed. The banda enforcers have cut short the strike in view of the demise of veteran republican leader Ramraja Prasad Singh.  [break]

Singh passed away today at around 6 am during the course of treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

Various youth and student organizations affiliated to opposition parties had enforced the banda protesting the recent hike in prices of petroleum products and demanding that the government revoke the price hike.
