Ballot box torched in Nawalparasi

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: A ballot box was set on fire at a polling station in Jhakre, East Nawalparasi.

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: A ballot box was set on fire at a polling station in Jhakre, East Nawalparasi.


The ballot box for the proportional representation of the province was set on fire in an election booth of Shanti Srijana Basic School located in Ward No. 4 of Devchuli Municipality.

As many as 720 votes were cast in that box. The police said that Narayan Bhandari, a local who set the ballot box to fire, has been arrested. He has given a statement that he had applied body lotion on the ballot paper and dropped it in the ballot box. Bhandari fled after setting fire to the ballot box.
