"There is a serious conspiracy behind the decision to appoint a judge as a prime minister. So the four-party deal needs to be foiled through strong protests," Chand told reporters at an interaction organized by Maoist-affiliated journalists here in Damauli on Saturday.
He accused UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of betraying the country by working in collusion with the "parliamentary parties". He praised the protest from legal sectors against the proposal to form CJ-led government as an obvious and right move.
Chand is believed to be influential leader in the rank and file of the CPN-Maoist party, which was formed after splitting the ruling Maoist party last year.
